Thanks to member Enric Pallarés's effort, the old Bergfalke EC-BJO has been restored and is flying again at Igualada.
Saturday, 4 May, as on previous occasions, it was time for the visit to our aerodrome by Mr Oliva of Civil Aviation, for the appropriate inspections and to renew the Airworthiness Certificates of some of the club’s aircraft. Specifically the K6, the PW5 and the Rallye, which belong to the Club, and other single-seaters belonging to Club members.
So far, everything as normal, just like every year.
But this year there was something new:
Thanks to the idea of a member of our club, who was pained by the sight of an aircraft hanging from the roof of our hangar, watching time go by and deteriorating day after day, he put all his enthusiasm and dedication into its repair and restoration. This member, as many of you already know, is Enric Pallarés, and the aircraft we are referring to is our old Bergfalke EC-BJO.
As Enric tells us, he took the aircraft to Viladecans (where PAC gave him space in their workshop) and there he carried out his surgeon’s work for 4/5 months. It is also true that he had small contributions from Domènec and Colomo. But, in only that time, he was able to bring the aircraft back to Igualada, with the look you can see in the photographs.
Then came the long road of bureaucracy, etc, etc, etc,
Nevertheless, and finally, it has its Airworthiness Certificate once again. In short, a success.
From here, our thanks for Enric’s work. Thanks to him, the aircraft is flying again and any Club members who wish to can once more take the controls.
