For the second year running, on Saturday 5 October 2019 the ADAPTED AVIATION DAY took place at the Igualada-Òdena aerodrome.
The Aviació Adaptada Day is an event organised by “Vols per a tothom”, “Las Sillas Voladoras” and “Temyque”, with the support and collaboration of the “Federació Aèria Catalana”, “Aeroports de Catalunya”, the town councils of Igualada and Òdena, the Barcelona Provincial Council, the Consell Comarcal de l’Anoia and the management consortium of the Igualada-Òdena Aerodrome (CAIO), with the aim of bringing the world of aviation closer to people with disabilities. A large number of pilots, volunteers, organisations, companies from various fields and gliding clubs also took part and collaborated.
This year more than 100 people with disabilities flew, 28 of them in a glider. For this event our club contributed 2 tow planes and 3 two-seater gliders. We were also able to count on the ASK21 adapted for manual control, owned by “Las Sillas Voladoras”, which is now a regular at our home and will be at our facilities available to our members, to the members of “Las Sillas Voladoras” and to visitors who wish to enjoy an introductory flight, preferably people with disabilities. So if anyone was left wanting to fly, don’t hesitate and contact us or “Las Sillas Voladoras”.
Once again we congratulate and thank all the pilots, volunteers and organisers for another great success of the event, which this year was surpassed both in the number of flights and in the satisfaction of everyone involved.
