Sunday 8 January 2017. The first weekend of 2017, and we start with energy, just as we ended last year. If last year finished with the purchase of two gliders (PW5 EC-GPZ and Astir D-4809) and a tow plane (Rallye 235E F-BXYS), then this year has to begin, at the very least, with a “suelta” (first solo flight). This time it was Oriol Rovira’s turn: after some time already holding his licence and a few solo flights in the K13 two-seater (EC-LRI), he flew for the first time in a fibreglass single-seater, one of those we colloquially call “plastic planes”.
